melissa oholendt - Your composition on the city shots rockkkkk. I didn’t realize how much orange there is in the Venice buildings but I love it!

Jason Thon - Great images Laura. I love the diptych’s and mixed use of B&W and color! The shot with the bird flying in it may be my favorite!

Amy - We totally got lost and we were trying to follow the sun back to where we needed to be until it got so dark we had to ask for directions! What a great city!

Katja - Pleeease contact me when you are in Europe next time. I’ll jump in a plane and we’ll have a great photography daytrip!

Ami @ Elizabeth Anne Designs - i love that vantage point from the rialto bridge – it’s quintessential venice!

Sean - Outrageous. This post is going to be held responsible for my spontaneous travels into Venice. The third is so… moody. I love it. Plus, the last of St. Marks square is magnificent. Yep, I’m packing my bags :)

Stacy Able - Love it as always your work is so gorgeous. So many should be prints or canvases in your studio or home

Melissa Schollaert - Makes me want to go buy a plane ticket right now! These are awesome! :)

Tonya Peterson - I want to go there so bad! The pictures are beautiful.

Alicia Swedenborg - Beautiful, Laura! You should make BIG canvas prints of them!!

VENICE | TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY

In November I spent a few days in Venice, Italy and captured a few images on my trusty Holga. I absolutely love black and white film and equally love architecture (it’s a little known fact that I was an Architecture/Interior Design major back in my undergrad days!) Here are a few of my favorites:

carl zoch - i love these. all of them! thanks for the film recommendation!

Laura - Dang Travis, you have a great eye….I didn’t notice the person with an umbrella in that shot! It does seem “peacefully eerie!”

Jason Thon - Great compositions Laura! Wonderful work as usual :)

Melissa Schollaert - Oh, I loved Venice! So cool. Need to go back for an extensive photo field trip. HINT – HINT… :)

Travis Johansen - David you hit it on the nail! Sharp softness.
My favorite is that 5th shot that’s kinda dark, murky feeling to it and then I noticed the person with the umbrella perhaps walking up the stairs? Peacefully eerie.

Lara - These are wonderful! Love the Holga!

YAZYJO - Beautiful!!

David Drufke - These pictures have such an interesting “sharp softness” to them.
